IT Security Measures
Last updated: 09 April 2026
At SciVoc, protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of client data, including sensitive clinical, scientific, and personal information, is fundamental to how we operate as a medical communications and health outcomes research firm.
- Encryption
- All data transmitted through our website and client portals is encrypted using TLS/SSL protocols; sensitive data at rest is encrypted using industry-standard algorithms.
- Network security
- Our infrastructure is protected by firewalls, web application firewalls (WAF), and intrusion detection/prevention systems to filter and monitor traffic and block malicious requests.
- Access controls
- We enforce role-based access control, strong password policies, multi-factor authentication, and account lockout mechanisms to prevent unauthorized access to systems containing client and clinical data.
- Segregation of environments
- Web servers, application servers, and databases are isolated from one another and from our internal corporate network to limit the impact of any single point of compromise.
- Employee training
- All SciVoc team members undergo regular cybersecurity training covering phishing awareness, password hygiene, and secure handling of confidential pharmaceutical and clinical content.
- Backup and recovery
- We maintain a documented backup and disaster recovery plan with defined recovery timelines to ensure business continuity in the event of a cyber incident.
- Monitoring and incident response
- Systems are continuously monitored for anomalous activity, and we maintain an incident response plan to detect, contain, and report security incidents promptly, including notification obligations under applicable privacy law.
- Third-party vendor management
- Any subcontractors, cloud hosts, or software vendors handling client data are contractually required to maintain security standards equivalent to our own.
If you have questions about our security practices or wish to report a suspected vulnerability, contact us at it-team@scivoc.com.
